Mike

Mike Wood

Mike specialises on focusing on building digital capability and scope while developing the future of the creative studio for Africa. 

He began his career as a creative, working as a multimedia designer and developer for Firewater Interactive, where he built digital solutions for clients across various sectors, including Energizer, Gallo Records, and Barloworld International. 

Subsequently, Mike joined the Ogilvy One Digital team, working on KFC, where he took the lead in digital campaign development and execution, supported by the digital creative team. This role was expanded to include above-the-line advertising for KFC, allowing him to collaborate with clients and the creative team to develop 360-degree campaigns for product launches and KFC's initiative, Add Hope, aimed at combating child malnutrition and hunger in South Africa. 

Mike later had the opportunity to join the KFC brand team, and during his 6-year tenure at KFC, he worked across various sectors of the marketing business. His responsibilities included brand and sector strategy development, product development and implementation, and advertising and media planning and management. 

While at KFC, Mike closely collaborated with emerging markets across Africa, helping to navigate the challenges of developing and executing marketing strategies tailored to the brand's expansion into new territories.
