Marie-Claire Barker is the Global Chief Talent Officer at Edelman, where she leads all aspects of Talent and HR strategy, designed to create an employee experience where talented people thrive, whilst growing the performance of Edelman and its clients.
Prior to joining Edelman, Marie-Claire spent 17 years with the WPP group, one of the world’s leading communications services groups, where she had global responsibility for all aspects of HR, initially for Ogilvy and finally Wavemaker, a GroupM company.
Marie-Claire started her career in the UK in marketing with Kimberly-Clark, and then Britvic soft drinks, where she had her first exposure to leading the learning and development function. This is when her passion for finding, growing and engaging great people started.
Her move to Human Resources came when she joined Allied Domecq Spirits and Wine, where she held roles in International Leadership and Management Development, Organizational Development, and finally in Corporate HR based in Canada.
Marie-Claire is a Board Member of the 4A’s. Originally from the UK, she now and lives in New York with her husband and son
