The 2022 Edelman Trust Barometer has revealed a cycle of distrust spurred on by government and media institutions so it will be up to our most trusted institutions – business and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) – to rebuild confidence and stem the tide of misinformation. ​

The Edelman Trust Barometer is the largest global survey and foremost authority on trust in business, government, media and NGOs. Now in its 22nd year, the Trust Barometer, surveys more than 36,000 people in 28 markets. Each year, the barometer determines the levels of trust in four major institutions: Government, Media, NGOs and Business. The survey also informs academic studies on trust and provides insights to thought leaders and opinion shapers around the world.
